ZERO LATENCY VR SETS LAUNCH DATE FOR JUMANJI: THE LOST LEVELS
Zero Latency VR's all-ages Jumanji social immersive experience opens December 4, 2026.
Zero Latency VR, the world's largest and most innovative immersive VR network, has a date, a destination, and a challenge for you: step into the world of Jumanji: The Lost Levels on December 4, 2026. The virtual reality experience, built in collaboration with Sony Pictures, will be live at Zero Latency VR locations worldwide, and it's bringing something the company has never done before.
Jumanji: The Lost Levels will be Zero Latency VR's first-ever fully hand-tracked experience. For the first time, there are no controllers to pick up, no buttons to learn, and no peripherals standing between you and the world you're stepping into. Players reach out, grab, throw, push, and interact using nothing but their actual hands, making Jumanji: The Lost Levels the most instinctive and accessible experience Zero Latency has ever built.
For families, especially, that matters: there's no learning curve, no explaining the controls to someone who's never played a game in their life. You just reach out and play.
"Hand tracking changes everything about how you relate to a virtual world. In Jumanji: The Lost Levels, you're reaching out and interacting with the environment instead of pressing buttons or aiming a controller. Your hands are the interface, so the boundary between you and the game dissolves. We've been working towards this moment for a long time, and Jumanji is exactly the right world to debut it in."
Scott Vandonkelaar, Chief Technology Officer - Zero Latency VR
Jumanji: The Lost Levels is being built from the ground up as a family-friendly experience, focused on adventure, teamwork, and social play. Thrill seekers will explore a stunning world, solve puzzles, and work together to survive after being pulled into an immersive journey like no other. Together, you can overcome daring challenges, meet the unforgettable locals, and become the heroes Jumanji needs.
Jumanji: The Lost Levels opens on December 4, 2026, and new research shows just how well-timed it is.
NEW RESEARCH: FAMILIES ARE VR'S BIGGEST AUDIENCE
A survey* of 2,386 adults across Australia, the US, Canada, France, and Spain shows that location-based VR has quietly become a family occasion. Today, 44% of respondents describe Zero Latency as "suitable for families", a brand that was once almost entirely associated with young adults and friend groups. 60% of people now visit location-based entertainment with family. The biggest single group of Zero Latency visitors is aged 35-44: people who saw the original Jumanji in cinemas as kids, and watched the reboots with their own children.
By the numbers:
- 92.8% of respondents are interested in VR experiences
- 62.9% of Zero Latency visitors would book for a family activity
- 45.8% of all visitors are aged 35–44
- 60% visit with family; 72.8% with friends
"What this research tells us is that people want something they can truly do together as a social experience. For a long time, VR was seen as a novelty, something you tried once to see what it was like. Now, families are our biggest audience, and what they're looking for is something that gets everyone off the couch, into the same room, and then talking about it on the way home. That's exactly why Jumanji: The Lost Levels will be the perfect immersive VR adventure, and the data backs that up."
Tim Ruse, CEO - Zero Latency VR

ABOUT JUMANJI FILM FRANCHISE
Sony Pictures' Jumanji film franchise, based on the award-winning children's book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg, has taken in over $2 billion at the worldwide box office. Moviegoers were first introduced to the world in 1995 when a mysterious game transports its players to the jungles of Jumanji! The film starred the late Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce. Over 20 years later, the adventures continue in the brand-new film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), where the game changed as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they've never heard of, they decide to play and are immediately thrust into the game's jungle setting, in the bodies of the avatar characters they chose (Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan). What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji, Jumanji plays you. To win, they'll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they'll be stuck in the game forever. Following the success of the 2017 film, the gang (Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan) is back in Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world's most dangerous game. The gang returns once again for the next instalment in the Jumanji series coming out in theaters on December 26, 2026.
